Situated in the eastern hills of Clark County and along the banks of the Columbia River, the city of Camas is home to more than 22,000 residents, and is only 13 miles east of Vancouver and 14 miles from Portland.

Established in 1883 as a paper-mill town, Camas has expanded, developed, and successfully blended a mix of industry, cultures, and visions, and now serves as home to several high-tech manufacturing companies. These ideals have been instrumental in promoting diverse economic growth, encouraging development of livable neighborhoods, protecting open space, and building parks and other recreational amenities.

On the Western side of the city, Prune Hill, highlights large homes hugging the hillsides with views of the Columbia River, Mt. Hood, and the city lights of downtown Portland. And, descending from the top of the hill and past the Lacamas Lake, one enters the more established areas, feature traditional, Craftsman, older Victorians, modern homes on large park-like lots, condominiums, and townhomes.

Known for it’s beautiful tree lined streets, Downtown Camas has charming antique stores, clothing shops from upscale to consignment, gift and coffee shops, restaurants, a historic theater, and much more housed in well-preserved older buildings. A large, newly remodeled brick library sits proudly, overlooking the downtown streets. Just a few minutes east of downtown, are an array of shopping centers, plazas and professional services. Camas has nearly a dozen friendly parks including a skate park, playgrounds, picnic areas and walking paths. Additionally, Lacamas Lake Regional Park is a 312-acre forested reserve just north of downtown, with six miles of paved and unpaved trails, a cascading waterfall, and a small lake to paddle a canoe.
